Familiar Ground was inspired by my favorite place on earth. A small path through ivy covered alder trees, lined with blackberry bushes in Oak Glen CA. I walked this path every day to feed my horses. It was a time of quiet reflection and solitude through my childhood and early adulthood. I was so happy to capture the sense of cool misty air, and the peaceful evening light through layers of textured and translucent oil paint.  I hope this piece brings you peace and thoughtfulness, as the location has brought me throughout the years.
