Drought Suspended was inspired by the 2022-2023 winter season, with heavy rains that helped ease California’s debilitating drought. The storms were overwhelming and destructive in many cases, but brought much needed relief to the region.
Through the contrast of heavy blue storm clouds and the powerful sunset, the artwork mirrors the reality of life’s challenges and the good that is brought forth from them. The dynamic elements of movement and texture further enrich the artwork, giving it a sense of energy and life.
